About the EBBA Team

The European Brass Band Association (EBBA) is an organisation that promotes and supports brass band music in Europe. It organises the European Brass Band Championship, a competition for brass bands from different countries, and also offers support and resources for brass band musicians and organisations. EBBA also works to promote cultural exchange and collaboration between brass bands across Europe. The organisation’s goal is to promote the brass band culture and music throughout Europe.

The Norwegian Band Federation

The Norwegian Band Federation (NMF) is the largest non-governmental culture organization in Norway, with approximately 60 000 members in 1 600 brass bands and wind orchestras. Our vision is “Banding joy for all”, and our mission is to make banding an attractive and available activity for both children, youth and adults. The Norwegian Band Federation aims to be a diverse and inclusive organization which contributes to a socially sustainable society and enhances health and wellbeing. We have a large portfolio of various projects and goals, such as our ten-year long project “The Youth Lift” which goal is to keep the youths in the bands, “The Conductors Lift” which goal is to educate and specialize conductors for banding, the PULSE-project which is activities free of charge for children and youths etc. In addition, we also host many prestigious contests all over Norway.
